Asian mostly higher, Toshiba Tec to sell share.




        Market in Asia traded mostly higher on Monday, while share of Toshiba Tec jumped on news reports of a possible sale of shares.

       Japanese Nikkei 225 gained 0.09% at 6.31 am CET. The Nikkei reported that Toshiba Corp is considering selling shares in Toshiba Tec to plug an upcoming $6.3 billion write-down. The dollar weakened 0.03% against the yen, to go for ¥114.72 at 6.51 am CET. Earlier, offical data showed that Japan's core machinery orders fell 3.2% in January from the previous month.

       China's Shanghai Composites increased 0.61% at 6.51 am CET, while the Shenzen Composite jumped 0.63% at the time. The Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose1.24% at 6.53 am CET. The Hong Kong -listed shares of HSBC gained after news that AIA Group's CEO was appointed as the HSBC chairman.





      South Korean Kospi Composite was 1.04% higher at 6.34 am CET, as investor shrugged off the political risks after Prisedent Park Geun-Hye was removed from office last Friday.

      Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.32% in the red, as outperforming gold miners failed to outweigh losses in the energy sub-index.
