Europe opens mixed as UK government hopes to begin Brexit.






         Markets in europe opened mixed on Monday as the United Kingdom government hopes Parliament votes in favor of the Brexit bill which would enable it to trigger the Article 50 and offecially start the process of leaving the European Union. Elsewhere, German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay a visit to the United State today. Meanwhile, traders are awaiting the election in the Netherlands on Wednesday and anticipating an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve at its meeting scheduled for later this week.

      


       The FTSE 100 rose.032% at 9.02 am CET. The largest gains were recorded in the mining sector as Anglo American and Antofagasta jumped 3.99% and 3.45% at 9.03 am CET respectively. Rio Tinto, Glencore, Randgold Resources, BHP Billiton and Fresnillo also gained over 2%. The DAX edge down 0.08% at 9.03 am CET. Deutsche Post thr worst performer, falling 0.58% at 9.08 am CET.

       The euro traded flat against the dollar, selling for 1.0687 at 9.09 am CET and it decreased 0.11% compared to the yen to go for 122.498 at 9.10 am CET. The pound gained 0.40% against the euro to change hands for 1.1434 at 9.10 am CET.
