Intel Corporation has agreed to buy Mobileye, the Israeli developer of autonomous driving technology, for between $14 billion and $15 billion, Israeli financial newspaper TheMarket reported on Monday.
Neither of the two companies has confirmed the report, which claimed that the American chip giant and the Israeli company would announce the deal later today. If confirmed, the transaction would represent the largest cross-border acquisition ever of an Israeli company by a foreign one.
Mobileye's shares surged 33.07% to trade at €58.619 in Frankfurt, whule Intel added just 0.01% to go for €33.605 at 11.17 am CET at the same excharge.
