Turkey summons Dutch diplomat over rally dispute.






        Turkey's foreing ministry summoned the charge d'affaires of the Dutch enbassy in Ankara to formally protest the banning of Turkish minister Mevlut Cavusoglu from landing in Rotterdam, the Associated Press reported on Monday.

        Tensions rose over the weekend between the two countries after foreign  minister Cavusoglu was denied landing in the Dutch city where he plannedto hold a rally. Turkish minister of family affairs Betul Sayan Kaya took to twitter to condemm Dutch authorities after she was barred from entering the consulate and claimed she had been taken to Germany following the incident. The Dutch government explained that the country did not want to be complicit in the public campaingning of Turkish officials.

        Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he the Netherlands should face sanction for denying the officials entry to the country. Previously, Erdogan branded the Dutch " Nazi remnants", and accused the nation of Islamophobia.
